Preselected Programs

Preselected (UNPS) classification programs

Students in this classification have been selected to participate for credit in a specific course, seminar, institute, workshop, or program. Admission requirements are established by the program or department that makes the final admission decision.

For most preselected special students, enrollment is for one term only for the specific course or program. Students who wish to be considered for enrollment in a subsequent term must contact University Special Student Services to request a change of classification based on their academic plans or goals.

Badger Ready program

Badger Ready is a pathway program for individuals who may have a GPA barrier to UW–Madison transfer admission from college courses taken in the seven-plus years since graduating high school. Veterans with some college credit, regardless of when they graduated high school, are eligible to apply as well. Acknowledging that your past academic record is not the only indicator to potential success, this program takes into consideration your proven success in nonacademic areas of life.
